느낀 점

항상 바쁘게 앞만 보며 살아가는 현대의 생활 속에 우리는 다른 사람에게 눈을 돌리기 쉽지 않습니다. 그러다 보면 자신의 이익만을 위해서 움직이는 사람이 되기 마련이죠. 하지만 이기주의와 개인주의는 다르듯이 개인의 이익만을 위해 움직이다 보면 어느새 마음이 좁고 여유가 없는 자신을 발견할 수 있을 겁니다. 바쁜 와중에도 한 번만 주변을 둘러보고 사람들을 배려하다 보면 더 풍요로워진 마음으로 앞으로 나아갈 수 있습니다. 우리가 할 수 있는 '주변을 둘러본다'는 것이 생각해보면 참 거창하지 않은 것 같습니다. 빨간불에 열심히 수레를 끌고 길을 건너려는 사람을 조금만 기다려 주는 것, 모든 가게 점원들과 영업을 하려는 사람들에게 따듯하게 대해주는 것, 노력하는 후임이나 후배에게 관용을 베푸는 것 같은 일을 하여 마음이 넓어진다면 자신의 바쁜 일상에서도 앞으로 나아갈 힘이 될 것 같습니다. 약자라고 생각되는 사람들에게 무례한 사람은 자신보다 더 높은 사람을 만났을 때 똑같이 약자가 될 것이고, 모두를 같은 시선에서 보는 사람은 여전히 자신도 같은 사람이 됩니다. 자신의 노력으로 모든 일들이 잘 풀려갈 때 주변을 둘러보고 넓은 마음까지 갖는다면 더할 나위 없겠죠. 세상에 무시받아야 할 사람은 없고 단지 각자의 삶을 살고 있는 것이니까요.
